Deacons joins Equal Opportunities Commission as a signatory of the Racial Diversity & Inclusion Charter in August 2023
We are thrilled to announce that Deacons has joined the ranks as one of the 300+ signatories to the Diversity & Inclusion Charter of the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC).
Cynthia Chung, our Staff Partner, signed “The Racial Diversity & Inclusion Charter for Employers” on behalf of Deacons. This Charter encompasses nine goals centered around fostering an inclusive policy, culture, and work environment.
By signing the Charter, we reaffirm our dedication to championing racial diversity and fostering a culture of inclusion within our organization. Our partnership with the EOC also stands as a testament to our shared vision of transforming Hong Kong into a thriving and inclusive workplace.
Deacons empowers ethnic minority talents: partnering with the Zubin Foundation for internship opportunity in July 2023
As one of the signatories of the Racial Diversity & Inclusion Charter of the Equal Opportunities Commission, Deacons takes pride in our partnership with the Zubin Foundation, a charitable organization dedicated to improving the lives of Hong Kong’s ethnic minorities. Together, we are delighted to provide a two-week internship programme in July 2023 for Krizza Apo, an undergraduate law student.

It is our pleasure to partner with The Zubin Foundation in providing aplacement opportunity for an LLB student of ethnic minority. We welcomed Krizza to our Corporate Commercial Practice Group for a two-week internship programme this summer. The programme provided Krizza with a practical law firm experience and demonstrated our continued efforts in building a diverse and inclusive workplace. The Zubin Foundation is a charity dedicated to improve the lives of Hong Kong’s ethnic minorities by reducing suffering and providing opportunities. It was a real privilege to host Krizza in our office for two weeks’ work experience. From the very start, Krizza displayed a high level of confidence which allowed her personality to shine, even though this was her first work experience in a law firm.
