Deacons' Partner participated in HKTDC Outreach Programme in UK

Deacons IP Department's Chris Britton participated in the HKTDC Outreach Programme to Glasgow, Cambridge and Dublin during the week commencing 30 October 2006. The objective of this outreach programme was to promote Hong Kong’s economic advantages with particular focus on technology.

Chris was a speaker at the plenary session in all three cities on the topic of “Protecting Intellectual Property in China” amongst other prominent figures from Hong Kong including Brigadier Hammerbeck, Executive Director, British Chamber of Commerce; Mr. Fred Lam, Executive Director, HKTDC and the CEOs of various major technology companies from Hong Kong.

Apart from being a key speaker at the plenary session, Christ also joined the Hong Kong Business Partnership 3rd Plenary Meeting in London on Tuesday 31st October 2006. Many senior business executives from Hong Kong and the UK attended the meeting where a number UK-HK economic and trade issues were discussed. Speakers at the meeting included Dr. Gerard Lyons, Chief Economist, Standard Chartered Bank; Mr. Tony Tyler COO, Cathay Pacific; Mr. Vincent Wong, Joint MD, Kerry Logistics Network Ltd; and Mr. Paul Chow, ED and CE of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Chris was the only Hong Kong lawyer participating in the Outreach Programme and the HK/UK Business Partnership 3rd Plenary Meeting.
