Deacons wins Hong Kong Law Firm of the Year and four deals awards at Asian Legal Business (ALB) China Law Awards 2006 20 March 2006 Deacons was named Hong Kong Law Firm of the Year by Asian Legal Business, China (ALB) at the ALB China Law Awards 2006 in Shanghai on Friday, 10 March. The law firm of the year awards are based on peer and client nominations while the deal awards are judged on complexity, jurisdictional breadth and innovation. Deacons was also awarded for its involvement in the following deals: China Deal of the Year – advising on Hong Kong law aspects on the investment by Bank of America in China Construction Bank M&A Deal of the Year – advising on Hong Kong law aspects on the investment by Bank of America in China Construction Bank IT/Telco Deal of the Year – acting as the Hong Kong legal advisers to Yahoo Inc. in relation to the transfer by Yahoo Inc. of its China business to Alibaba.com Corporation Real Estate & Construction Deal of the Year – Shanghai Square Project relating to the disposal by China Overseas to Morgan Stanley of their interest in Shanghai Square In all, Deacons received five awards, the highest number of awards given to any firm at the Awards ceremony.
